My family and I bought this product because we needed a new microwave for our new house. It fits well into the space we made for it, and is pretty stylish.
Great, when it works...
The reason I have stopped liking this initially wonderful microwave is because of this one thing it does all the time. When you put something in the microwave, and input your time, and then push start, it just clicks the time and doesn't heat. I am not using the timer by the way, if at this point you think I'm stupid. It just doesn't work. The light comes on, but there are no micro-waves coming in. This has thoroughly ticked me off and has caused many nights of frustration. For example, we decided to have a dinner party one time, and we desperately needed our microwave to perform for us. Well, guess what? We couldn't microwave any of the food we needed to microwave, and we were out of luck. That is, until I had the idea that we could try the toaster-oven, but that didn't exactly help with our soup. Now that I have all my ranting about the cons of this microwave out of the way, let's move on to the pros.
Well, mine works, so what's good about this microwave?
The microwave has held up pretty well. It cooks things quickly, and even has default settings for things such as potatoes, popcorn, bacon, frozen foods, etc. I personally have used it many-a-time for the popcorn and bacon settings. My popcorn always comes out perfect and buttery, unlike before when I would always burn it. When I use the bacon setting, the bacon comes out a lot less greasy than when I cook it in the stove too.
One of my favorite features on it is the defrost setting, because it saves you on all those times when you forget to take meat out of the freezer for it to thaw. This does it quickly, and without that freezer burn taste, unlike other microwaves.
The glass turnstile on the inside of the microwave is really great too, as it is extremely easy to clean up stains on, and makes sure your food gets cooked all over. No cold spots!
The final word
Ok so this microwave has some pretty good advantages to it, but the fact is, it doesn't always work when I need it to, and that seriously dampens my microwaving experience. I should mention that my model number is the 1000w, so I'm not sure about the larger or smaller microwaves. With any luck, they are probably better.
