As easy to make as any other "mac-n-cheese" in a box, Annie's Homegrown: Mild Mexican Shells & Cheddar gives a new kick to an old favorite. With tiny little shells instead of the usual macaroni we're accustomed to, they have a habit of cupping in the luscious sauce in every bite.
Annie's ingredients are all natural, so you aren't filling yourself with food coloring and other artificial junk. Made with white Vermont cheddar, jalapeņo pepper, garlic, tomato, and more wonderful items... this is sure to be a treat for the tongue.
Found in your local natural food store (or you could try www.wholefoods.com) at regular boxed dinner prices, your biggest problem may be finding it if that's not where you tend to shop. I would encourage anyone to take a step out of their way to at least give it a try (Fred Meyer's now offers a great natural food selection in many of their stores as well).
The best part of this meal for me was not necessarily the ease of making it. I was pleasantly surprised by the kick in the flavor. Of course a Mild Mexican is supposed to be spicy, but I didn't expect it to deliver as much as it does. The spice is certainly not overwhelming to a spice accustomed palette, however it could be a surprise for usually bland eaters. I certainly enjoy it, and the extra flavor over you usual mac-n-cheese.
Hint: add in some fresh (or even frozen) vegetables [peas, carrots, green beans, and/or corn] for even more natural nutrition!
