| Drgnslyr4's Full Review: Panasonic Mid-Size Microwave Ovens |
I bought a Panasonic Genius Premier 1100W microwave (model NN-S66BBA) because I have been very satisfied with other Panasonic products. I have used Kenmore and Sharp microwaves in the past, but the Panasonic hit my price point so I thought I'd give it a try. Bad choice...
I've had the microwave less than 2 years. It has met my expectations with respect to the evenness of heating, the various pre-programmed functions, etc. It looks attractive on my counter, etc. But looks are deceiving.
The keypad on the microwave has failed twice. The first time, it would start beeping if I left the oven plugged into the wall. (Now my neurotic cat thought that the beeping oven was his new friend and would take up very involved conversations. It got quiet amusing.) As the oven was still under warrantee, I was able to get it repaired at no cost to me, if you don't count having to drive over 100 miles to/from the authorized repair center and take off work so that I could arrive before they closed at 5PM.
The second failure is slightly different. I can't program it at all. Can't reset it, can't get a quick minute setting, can't get a sensor reheat. Unplugging the oven doesn't seem to reset whatever problem it's got.
I'm going to go buy a Kenmore. At least my Sears store is near by...
