Mmmmm Chunky Soups. I have always loved them even when I was a kid. I remember when my mom used to pour Chunky Sirloin (still my favorite canned soup) over a noodles. I just thought that was the greatest meal ever.
Well now that I am a mommy. I also know that it is also a very simple, hot and complete meal too. What could be more simple? Boil noodles, heat up soup, drain noodles, put them on a plate, and pour Chunky Sirloin over top of them. (This would probably also work great with the Chunky Steak.) What I probably liked most about the Chunky Sirloin when I was a kid is that the meat is shaped like little hamburgers or sirloin steaks. They are really meaty and delicious. Also this makes a good pour over soup because the broth portion of the soup is thick and very full of flavor.
Another great Chunky Soup is the chicken noodle. It is very much like homemade it has a thick broth that is almost more like a gravy than a broth. It has thick noodles and good size vegetables. very hardy.
Chunky also has a good clam chowder. It has good size chunks of clam, a very tasty white sauce and large chunks of potato.
Cons:
1. Cost: It is a little a little more expensive than regular soups. But it's price is comparative to other soups that claim to be hearty.
2. High is sodium: Unfortunately what makes so many canned soups taste
so good is the amount of salt in which they put in them. Chunky is definitely no exception.
Summary of Pros:
The chunky brand soups live up to their name. In them you will find large pieces of meat (larger than most canned soups). Large sized vegetables, and thick almost gravy like broth. This soup will fill you up. Easy to prepare, just heat and eat. And it's made by Campbells so you know it's Mm Mm good.
So if you would like to have a canned soup that you will actually have to chew you can't go wrong with Chunky.
