ABM Baked Potato Bread

This was one of the very first breads I made in my bread machine when I got it about 8 years ago. It's from the Electric Bread book, which has some really great ABM recipes in it. This bread is one of my favorites when I want to make something other than plain white bread, or French bread. It's wonderful toasted!

BAKED POTATO BREAD

(Left measurement is for 1 lb. loaf ~ Right is for 1-1/2 lb.)


1/2 cup WATER 3/4 cup
2 cups WHITE BREAD FLOUR 3cups
1 Tbsp. DRY MILK 1-1/2 Tbsp.
1 Tbsp. SUGAR 1-1/2 Tbsp.
1 tsp. SALT 1-1/2 tsp.
1/4 cup SOUR CREAM 1/2 cup
1-1/2 Tbsp. INSTANT POTATO FLAKES 2-1/2 Tbsp.
1-1/2 Tbsp. BACON BITS 3 Tbsp.
1-1/2 Tbsp. CHIVES 3Tbsp.
2 tsp. ACTIVE DRY YEAST 3 tsp.

This dough will be very dry. Resist the urge to add water!

For best flavor, use real bacon bits.

Bake on Regular or Rapid Bake cycle.
