| melliott03's Full Review: Panasonic Mid-Size Microwave Ovens |
I have a 600 watt Panasonic household microwave oven. I have had it since 1993. To date, I have had no problems with this appliance.
My microwave is a medium size appliance. It measures 21.5" wide X 11" tall X 16" deep. I can easily use my largest casserole dish (3 qt) in it.
My Panasonic comes with a touch control panel which includes such things as:
1) Power button
2) Time
3) A. Start/Clock
4) Auto Reheat
5) Auto Defrost (can defrost in pounds or ounces)
6) Memory button
7) Popcorn button
The number buttons 1-9, also have power settings included on some of them.
At the bottom of the control panel are the stop/restart button, start button and the (0) button which is for stand time.
This microwave oven also has a built in glass turn-table. This definitely comes in handy when food must be turned during cooking. With this option, you don't have to stop the microwave to turn food.
I also received a Panasonic microwave cookbook with the oven. It has certainly come in handy. It tells what kind of containers work best in a microwave oven, how to position meat when cooking, cooking times and a myriad of microwave recipes.
Fresh vegetables come out cooked to perfection with less time and the color and consistency are exceptional. I especially like fresh broccoli cooked in the microwave with just a hint of butter.
There is still one thing I don't care for in this microwave oven. Cakes and muffins still don't turn out very well. They tend to come out tough and overdone on one or more sides. I will continue to use the regular oven for these foods.
The upkeep on the Panasonic microwave oven is easily accomplished. All it takes is a quick wipe with a damp sponge or paper towel when food is spilled in the oven. The glass turntable is also dishwasher safe.
I have found the Panasonic microwave an invaluable tool for the kitchen. I would recommend that Panasonic be considered when in the market for a microwave oven.
