So, you want to sew?

Buying a sewing machine can be a very intimidating adventure. The machine with all the bells and whistles isn't necessarily the "right" machine for you and your needs. Nor, does the price dictate that the most expensive will be the best machine for you.
I always thought that the most important feature of any machine was the ease of which I can get it fixed when it needs it and if you use it, it will need it! A reliable dealer is a must. He sees you as a very valued customer.
Try sewing on the machine before purchasing it and find the style and type that suits your sewing style. One with a lot of gadgets and gizmos might be too distracting to you and therefore not the machine for you. Or, perhaps you do a lot of heavy duty type of sewing. Then a machine that can
take the abuse is in order. If this is for a person who might sew every once in awhile, then there is no need to buy the top of the line and spend the extra money for all the bells and whistles you will never use nor remember what they actually could do!
Your needs should be your guide in the purchase of a new sewing machine.
