| KaraPhillips's Full Review: Panasonic Mid-Size Microwave Ovens |
After buying my Panasonic 1100 W microwave, I haven't seen my good old oven much. The mike, as we call it, is used every day, several times a day. It's easy one-button pre-settings make life so much simpler.
Pop in the cup of coffee that you just couldn't get to before it got cold...push two little buttons (beep-beep) and off it goes. In one second flat, you've got your nice hot coffee again.
Not only to reheat that one last cup, it's great for re-heating leftovers. Plates that the children didn't get to eat at dinner time, due to some temper-tantrum. And once again two beeps, and one minute later, the now happy child has a hot plate of food.
I don't know where I'd be without my handy-dandy mike! It really can do everything. I've even nuked a chicken in it. Came out great!
It's very easy to clean, too. The rotating plate comes out, with no fuss, and can be washed separately. The whole outside surface is smooth, and easy to wipe, with very little nooks and crannies for stuff to get caught in. The look is stylish, even a bit high-tech. And the LCD display is very easy to read.
There are several one button settings on this model. Popcorn, Auto Defrost (which is set by how much the item weighs), Auto Reheat (again by weight, or by amount), Bacon, Hot Dog, Oatmeal, Frozen Pizza, Frozen and Fresh Veggies, Frozen Dinners, Potato, and Pasta. With all of these and the "Quick Minute" button I've only once used the Power Settings. THAT was to cook the chicken.
When my now 3 year old son figured out just what the microwave was for, he never got enough of watching me put the cold food in, and watching (and eating) the hot food. He loves to help push the buttons.
Our "mike" has been in the family for only 2 1/2 years now, but it's still running like brand new. I would buy another exactly the same, if ours ever dies on us.
