Sock-It-To-Me Cake
Jan 30 '00 (Updated Feb 10 '00)
This one of my long time favorites, and so easy.
It reminds me of cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven!
It is good warm, cold, or reheated with coffee.
My aunt was the first one to make the cake in my family.
Each year on my birthday, I would ask my mom to make
one of these cakes as my birthday cake. Now I make it
for my family, and they ask for it again and again.
Sock-It-To-Me Cake
1 box Yellow Butter Cake Mix
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/4 cup water
4 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup oil
Mix separately:
1 cup chopped nuts
2 tbsp. Brown sugar
2 tsp. Cinnamon
Mix cake mix, sugar, and water. Add eggs one at a time.
Add oil and sour cream. Pour half of batter into tube pan;
sprinkle half of nut mixture over batter, pour almost all of
remaining batter into pan; sprinkle remaining nut mixture
over batter. Drizzle remaining batter over mixture. Bake @
375 for 45-55 minutes.
Glaze:
1 cup confectioners sugar
4 tbsp. Milk
Drizzle glaze over cake while still warm.
