Make Your Own Mix: French Dressing Mix

Save money by making your own french dressing. It is just as good or better than store bought brands, and you know what goes into it!
No preservatives, and no additives! Better for you and your family!

Dry Mix:

1/4 cup Sugar
1 tsp. Dry Mustard
1/8 tsp. Onion Powder
1 1/2 tsp. Paprika
1 1/2 tsp. Salt

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl; stir until well blended. Put mixture in a foil packet or 1-pint glass jar and label as French Dressing Mix. Store in a cool, dry place and use within 6 months.

Makes enough mix (5 Tablespoons) for 1 1/4 cups of French Dressing.

French Dressing Recipe: Combine 1 package of mix or 1 pint, 3/4 cup
vegetable oil, and 1/4 cup vinegar in a glass jar. Shake until well blended. Chill before serving.

Makes about 1 1/4 cups of French Dressing.

Variation:

Sweet Italian Dressing Recipe: Increase sugar to 1/2 cup, and substitute 1 tablespoon celery seed for paprika.
