PLEASE PASS THE PUDDING PIE!!!!!
Jun 30 '00 (Updated Jul 05 '00)
This recipe is so easy. If I remember correctly, I learned how to make this simple, easy to make Pudding Pie in Home Ec, in the 7th Grade at Meridian Junior High School In Boise Idaho. (I actually got kicked out of Home Ec for "participating in a food fight". They didn't have a leg to stand on, there was no proof it was me. I should change the subject before I get in more trouble...HI MOM!!!)
If I am making this pie in a hurry, I use the pre-baked Pie crusts you can buy at the grocery store, or I make my "flakiest pie crust in town." before I make pudding for the pie. (see my opinion)
If you are going to bake a pie crust, make sure it is completely cool before you put the pudding filling in it.
Ingredients
1 box (large)Instant Pudding (flavor of your choice)
2 Cups Milk
1 cooled 8 inch Pie Crust
Mix the contents of the pudding box in a bowl with the milk until smooth and creamy. Pour into an 8 inch Pie shell. Chill for 3 hours in the fridge, or over night. If I use Chocolate Pudding, I buy a Hersheys bar and shave it with the cheese grater, and decorate the top of the pie. If I use banana pudding, I cut a banana into thin slices, and lay them out on the bottom of the pie crust before I put the pudding in, then I put some on top as decoration. I also put Cool Whip on the top when the mood strikes me. This is a quick and easy way to make a nice looking, tasty dessert if you have unexpected company over for dinner.
