| MARIEROY's Full Review: Panasonic Mid-Size Microwave Ovens |
I finally went out and purchased a new microwave after getting tired of putting food into the old one and then taking it out to find it still cold. This time I went with a Panasonic, Model NN-L829, which I believe, is mid sized.
I love the Auto Cook feature that allows you to cook frozen dinners and entrées by the weight of the package. No guessing. A bell even goes off to remind me when to stir and rotate the dish. Before this I used to have to set the timer for half the time, and then reset it again at midway.
Also there’s a turbo defrost feature which takes out the guesswork by allowing you to defrost meat without having to set the timer. At first this was somewhat confusing because while programming it in this mode, I occasionally have to refer to a reference chart to convert the weight of the item into pounds and ounces. But once I got the hang of it, no problem.
I love the auto reheat feature, which I expect to use quite a bit after the holidays. It allows you to reheat 1 to 4 servings of foods without setting power and time. I’m an instant-do-it-now, type person who doesn’t like to have to take the time to think about how long I should leave a dish of macaroni in, and if it’ll be in there long enough to get heated through. Auto reheat eliminates that kind of guesswork.
I especially like the popcorn pad feature, which offers a selection of several desired weights of prepackaged microwave popcorn. There is nothing worse than overcooked popcorn, which I find utterly unpalatable and usually end up throwing out. So far every bag I’ve popped has come out perfect.
The carousel is very easy to clean. Just lift it off its base, and then wipe it down.
I’m still learning the different functions this microwave offers, and the manual that comes with it is quite easy to read and understandable. I’m looking forward to years of use with this appliance. So far it has made my life a little less hectic.
The price was very reasonable, plus it was on sale at around $125 and would certainly recommend this appliance to anyone in the market for a mid-sized microwave unit.
