Laundry Soap

Aug 08 '00 (Updated Aug 09 '00)

After 30 years of cleaning everything through out the house, I recommend New Era Laundry Soap. I prefer the one with bleach alternative for normal washes. I also mix it with a little water in a spray bottle as a pre-wash treatment. It works very well. Unlike many products you can put it on a spot and let it rest until you do laundry (use one WITHOUT bleach for this).

I also use it in my steam cleaner to clean carpets and furniture. The stuff that came with my steam cleaner was supposed to destroy allergens, it made my family and I gasp for air. So I decided to try the Era. After all, it is for fabric, well surprise, it was fantastic. I use only a small amount and it cleans great. I spray it on spots like pet stains and it takes them all out! I was surprised when it took the greasy stains from "someone's" boots out of my beige carpet with very little effort. I put a tablespoon full in a bucket of warm water and with a rag wash the arms and headrests of my fabric furniture. I wipe it once more with clear water. It keeps my furniture looking fresh even though it is well used.

Using liquid laundry soaps also eliminates the problem of powder detergents that don't dissolve and get those white streaks on your dark clothes. They rinse out much better than powders and don't clog up your washing machine. Try it, you will see how much money you will save on other products.
