I have had bad skin all my life. Severely oily is the only way to describe it! Naturally that leads to acne. And I had it bad- Now you need to realize- my skin is ultra oily- on the “Clinique computer” I scored a 4 and those products were still not enough to keep my skin oil-free. But Estee Lauder does it!

I have been on every drug for acne- from Tetracycline to Retin A to Benzamyacin to Accutane- the biggest drug you can get for acne! They would clear my skin up for awhile but I simply could not beat my acne.

I also tried lots of different makeups and face treatments. I have used Avon, Neutrogena, Almay, many others- even Clinique! My mom has very dry skin and has been using Estee Lauder ever since I could remember. So naturally, I never thought I could use it. I was very wrong. My face has never looked better! I am so happy- even though I am spending a lot on my face, for someone that has struggled with acne for many years it is worth it. My skin even feels good. I have caught myself resting my hands on my face and thinking “Gosh my skin feels great!” My skin is soft to the touch and has a soft glow about it- and no oil! Even my husband has noticed!

For all you oily skinned people like me- here is my key to solving your acne and oil problems! This 4 step process should be repeated day and night.

Step 1. Makeup removal/cleansing.
I use a makeup remover and a separate cleanser. This is recommended because often with today’s tough stay-on makeup, cleansers won’t get it all off. This is up to you- if you cannot afford it, skip the makeup remover, but keep the cleanser

For oily skin, EL makes “Take It Away Total Makeup Remover”- it goes on dry skin and you can tissue or rinse it off- and “Perfectly Clean Foaming Gel Cleanser for Oily Skin”. It foams up and makes your face feel great. And I have to hand it to EL- their stuff comes in cool bottles and smells so good! I love to wash my face now.

Step 2. Fruition Extra.
OK this is the expensive stuff- the little bottle (one ounce I think?) is $40 and the big bottle (1.7 oz.) is $70! But it is awesome. It is used to prevent aging and it also deflakes and smoothes your skin’s texture and appearance. This stuff has worked wonders for me. My skin looks even and fresh.

Step 3. Moisturizer!!
YES even your skin needs moisturizer. I used to skip this step and you simply cannot. Moisturizers for oily skin help your skin regulate the amount of oil it produces. So, with this product, your skin will be in balance and will produce less oil. I know it sounds crazy, but I swear it works! I no longer look like I am sweating in a cool room! I used to be able to just wipe the oil off my skin, but now my skin feels smooth and non-greasy- like someone with normal skin. It is fascinating how it works!

For oily skin, EL makes “Clear Difference Oil Control Hydrator”. It is very light and I swear by it!

Step 4. Spotlight.
This is one of EL’s new products. I decided to take the plunge during bonus time. ; ) This product is meant to give your skin a more even appearance. It evens out your skintone and helps to fade discoloration. I do not know about you all, but I have little red spots where specific zits used to be, and I also have a naturally ruddy complexion. (I look like a Maine fisherman without my makeup on!) This product evens out your skin tone- it has little transluscent microbeads in it that make your skin glow! This product is $30 for a 1.7oz. bottle, so if you do not have the same discoloration problem I do, you may want to skip this step. I would ask for some trial sizes- it is a new product so they should have plenty on hand.

There you go! That is my prescription for getting your oil under control. I know that EL is an expensive way to go, and I know it seems like a lot of stuff to put on your face, but it is the only thing I have found to control my severely oily skin! Also, the products go on and are absorbed quickly so you do not feel like you are just piling gunk on your face. If money is a problem, then go for sure with the Fruition and the Oil-Control Hydrator- they are revolutionary and do the most benefit.
