| KMINER's Full Review: Hair Care Products |
I learned about the Beauty Without Cruelty (BWC) product line when I was a pre-teen from my mother. She was forever frequenting health shops for teas, vitamins, and the like. She was looking for some good hair care products for us that would also be good to world around us. The owner suggested Beauty Without Cruelty, and my family has been hooked ever since!
The Company
Beauty Without Cruelty was founded in 1963 and is based in Petaluma California. The message on the back of their products states:
Since 1963, BWC has offered a full range of natural vegetarian cosmetics with No Animal Ingredients and No Animal Testing. On September 27, 1976 BWC adopted a strong and meaningful criterion of no animal testing, known as Fixed Cut-Off Date policy. This means we reject all new ingredients developed after this date, as it is estimated 80% of all animal testing is performed for the marketing of new ingredients.
BWC products contain ingredients like: rosemary, sage, coconut, evening primrose, sea kelp, rosewood, jojoba, and more.
What Products I Have Tried
I have only tried their hair care products, although they do make lotions, creams, and make-up. My favorites I usually have in my house are the Moisture Plus Shampoo and Conditioner, and the Spray Gel. The last time I bought them the shampoo and conditioner were $5.00 for a 16 oz bottle, and the hair gel was $4.00 for an 8 oz bottle.
What I Like
Beyond the fact that I like their approach and kindness towards animals, I really like the way these products work. They do not weigh my hair down, and yet remove all of the styling product from the day before. They have a natural vegetable or "herby" scent. They lather up well (I have a little longer than shoulder length permed hair) and rinse out easily. I especially like the spray gel because it is easy and light on my hair. It does not leave sticky clumps, and I can better control where the product goes with the spray.
Interested? Where To Buy
Most health shops have this product now ( I don't know about commercial ones like GNC but smaller independent chains do). My last purchases have all been on-line at store like vitamins.com and other more natural on-line drugstore type places. You can get a really great deal on these products if you try and find a coupon code for the site or use a related offer (most sites have special offers at least for first time buyers).
I hope you will give this product a try!
