Cheapo Breakfast BurritosMar 20 '00 (Updated Apr 20 '00) Write an essay on this topic.I used to work at McDonalds in high school, where my favorite things were the delicious breakfast burritos. I have since moved on to college, where I rarely have the time or the money to get all the ingredients, cut them all up and make real breakfast burritos. SO I have modified the Breakfast Burrito recipe into what I call Cheapo Breakfast Burritos. This recipe is faster, cheaper, and I think just as tasty as the regular kind. Gourmet sensibilities may be offended at this college kid recipe, but I feel certain that little kids would love it. To serve two people (or one very hungry person) you need the following ingredients: 2 hot dogs 4 eggs american cheese slices flour tortillas salt and pepper salsa or ketchup if desired Preparation: 1. Slice hot dogs into thinnish circles. Put them in a frying pan and fry them up until browned and yummy looking. 2. While the hot dogs are frying, scramble the eggs in a bowl. Add salt and pepper and milk if desired (you don't really need the milk, but I think it makes the eggs fluffier.) 3. When the hot dogs are done, dump the eggs on top of them and scramble scramble scramble until the eggs are cooked all the way through. 4. To assemble the burrito, take a tortilla and put it in the microwave for 5 seconds or so to soften it up. Rip a piece of cheese in half and place it on the tortilla end to end. Put a scoop of egg-hot dog mixture on the cheese, fold the bottom of the tortilla up, and then roll the rest up into a burrito. I really need a picture to explain proper burrito rolling, but I think you guys can manage even if you have no idea what I mean. 5. To melt the cheese, put rolled burrito in microwave for 10-15 seconds. Serve with salsa or ketchup. This is one of my favorite breakfasts, I hope you guys like it too. Enjoy! |
