I had been wanting a nice set of knives for a long time, but the key factor for me when shopping around is finding a good deal. I found the perfect deal at Robinson's May during their Memorial Day Weekend Sale.

Regularly priced at $67.00, I purchased the Henckels Everedge Block Set of 6 cutting knives and 6 steak knives for $39.99. These included a paring knife, butcher knife, bread knife, tomato knife and 2 others along with the steak knives.

These are by far, the most superior knives on the market. Their sharpness has not diminished in the slightest and they make cooking and preparing food so much easier. They are comfortable to hold and do not slip out of your hands, which I've had problems with in the past with other steak knives.

The bread knife is especially good. It never tears the bread, always slicing evenly and smoothly. Slicing tomatoes, mushrooms and onions is also a breeze with everything coming out evenly sliced which makes it much easier to saute.

No matter what kind of meat you enjoy, the steak knives cut flawlessly through them all. There is nothing worse than fighting with your meat! Problem solved with Henckels.

In terms of cleaning, I never put these knives in the dishwasher though I've heard you can. I prefer to wash them in warm, soapy water and immediately dry them and put them back in the block. I've yet to see any rust.
