Spanish rice... American style!Apr 15 '00 Write an essay on this topic.This is so simple and quick, it HAD to have been created by Americans! You know; America, birthplace of fast food and frozen pizza? This will be my one and only Epinion on "Quick Meal Recipes", because quite frankly, I can't cook a lick! First, allow me to list the ingredients: Rice Kindey beans Sazon <--- explained later Yup! That's all. First, let me explain the Sazon. This is probably the best spice combination/creation ever. Better even than Mrs. Dash! All you need to do is go down to any supermarket that offers at least a small selection of "ethnic" food, find the area that sells the hispanic foods, and look for a thin orange box that says "Sazon" (pronounced Sa-zone) You can get it with or without "Achote" (pronounced Ah-chote-ay) Regardless of which one you get, it won't make a difference. They are both awesome. All you need to do is make your rice as you normally would, throw in some red beans, and add some Sazon. (it comes in little foil packets that are just the right size) That's it. Pretty easy, huh? The best thing about Sazon is that you can use it with anything! Personally, I add it to my chicken, pork chops...well, pretty much All of my meats. Honestly, I dont care how you rate this Epinion. I just found out about this stuff last year, and I wish I new earlier. It's quick, it's easy, and it's just too dang yummy to miss out on.  |
