| MonicaL2me's Full Review: Panasonic Mid-Size Microwave Ovens |
This microwave oven was a gift to me for Christmas one year. As long as I can remember there was a microwave in my house as I was growing up. So when I moved out on my own and I didn’t have a microwave anymore I was lost. However, that Christmas my wonderful parents purchased a microwave for me.
What this Panasonic Microwave looks like
This microwave isn’t as big as the one that has been in my parent’s house forever. However, it is just the right size for me right now. All I really use it for is heating up leftovers and making popcorn. I really love popcorn. This was why it was really difficult for me when I didn’t have a microwave oven.
Anyway, the microwave itself is black and rather compact. Which is perfect for sitting on my countertop, where I have absolutely no space. I really could not handle having a bigger microwave right now. It has really easy to push buttons on it and a clock. This is a really stylish microwave.
Inside is a glass turnstile. This is great for making sure that food gets cooked all around. It really is not all that roomy inside, but it can fit one plate in it. My plates do hit the sides when they are rotating, but this does not seem to have been a problem for heating up food. The surfaces are very easy to clean on this microwave. Just take a paper towel and a bottle of Windex and squirt it on the microwave and the dirt just comes right off. As with anything though I do not recommend leaving any spills in the microwave. This could ruin the microwave. However, if you do not have time to clean up the mess or a child makes a mess in the microwave and does not clean it (as children often will do), then it is still very simple to clean it off. It might take a little more scrubbing than it would if you had cleaned it when it happened, but it will come off.
How well does this microwave heat things up
This Panasonic microwave is very effective at heating things up. And they have also made it very easy for you. If you want to re-heat a meal all you have to do is hit two buttons. The auto re-heat button and start will heat up one serving. If you want to heat up two servings all you have to do is hit the auto re-heat button twice and then start. It is very simple. I use these buttons a lot for re-heating my leftovers. It only takes about three minutes to re-heat one serving of food. It does a really good job too. I have never found any cold spots in my food.
There are also specific buttons on this microwave just for cooking certain things. There are buttons for potatoes, bacon, hot dogs, oatmeal, and even frozen dinners. These are preset times in the microwave for all of these kinds of foods, and there are even many other kinds of foods you can cook with these preset times. I personally have made bacon and potatoes with these convenient and easy to use buttons. Both the bacon and potato came out very nicely cooked, and it is so much quicker than doing it on the stove or in the oven. Not to mention that when you make bacon in the microwave it comes out so much less greasy than it does when it is cooked on the stove.
Have you ever forgotten to take meat out of the freezer for dinner?
I am sure that everyone has done this once or twice. Either you forget to take something out of the freezer or you just did not take it out early enough and when it is time to cook the meat is still frozen. Well you can defrost your meat in the microwave. It is so easy to do. All you have to do is put the meat in the microwave, push the auto defrost button, press the numbers for how many pounds the meat is, and press start. This will defrost your meat in minutes. Which is something that I think is really convenient. This way you don’t have to go out to a restaurant and waist money just because you forgot to take something out of the freezer. It does not take all that long either.
In conclusion
I have found that it is not easy to live without a microwave oven, especially after you have had one for so many years. Having a microwave oven saves so much time on everything. And they are so easy to use. I am so glad my parents bought me this Panasonic Microwave Oven. It may be small, but it has been such a great help to me. Maybe someday I will have the room and the money for a bigger microwave oven, but for now I am so very happy with my Panasonic Mid-Size Microwave. It gets the job done and that is all that counts.
