Want to Feel Special? Try This!!

According to the "Food Guide Pyramid," a person should have 2-4 servings of fruit a day.
Its easy to grab a banana, orange, strawberries or melons to get your recommended daily allowances of vitamins or minerals a day. I, however, like variation in my life. I tend to get bored easily and sometimes as I'm scanning the produce section in my local grocery store, I can't seem to find anything that appeals to me. I like to add different fruits together to make them more appealing.
Fresh peaches were arriving one day as I made my trip to the produce department and I grabbed a few. I love peaches but really can't stand that peach fuzz. To me, touching peach fuzz is like scraping your nails down a blackboard. Eeeooouuuuu! I have to peel them but then they're so mushy I have juice running down my chin making me look like a child.
That evening I was on the ~prowl~ in the kitchen... opening up doors, shutting them, sitting down, getting up, in the refrigerator then the freezer...not knowing what I really wanted. I was thirsty too but nothing appealed to me. Invention time. I grabbed a frozen banana that I'd thrown in the freezer when it had become overly ripe.
First, I put a couple pieces of ice in the blender. The banana came next. Orange juice was my choice to thin it a bit. Tasted it - not quite right. I thought of throwing in the 'ole' sugar but resisted my sweet tooth for once. Peaches????? Sure, why not?
Banana/Peach Slush
Ice - 4 or 5 cubes. Chop it almost to slush consistency
Banana - Peel, slice up in small slices and put in blender and puree.
Peach-1 medium - peeled, seed removed, cut into fourths and pureed along with banana.
Orange Juice - 1/8 to 1/4 cup
Blend to slush consistency.
Aaahhhh - The final touch!
I looked through my "best" dish cupboard and found a beautiful, rarely used, long stem glass and poured in the peach colored mixture. It looked just like those drinks you buy at the fruit drink counters - those we buy for mega bucks.
It really was delicious. Very smooth, not sweet, and the small amount of orange juice I added was a definite plus - just enough to give it a bit of tang. I've made this drink at least 5 times in the past month. It takes less than 5 minutes to make.
Suggestions for this Recipe
*The banana is difficult to peel and cut when completely frozen. Since I think the frozen ones taste best in this drink, I take it out of the freezer for just a few minutes to make cutting and peeling easier.
*Since the banana is frozen, you don't need to add ice. I do prefer it with no ice now as the drink seems more flavorful. Yet, the ice gives it a nice consistency too.
*Get that special glass out of hiding - you know - the ones you only use for company. Forget the company. You're special and deserve to drink this fine drink out of an exquisite glass.
*Cleaning the blender is very simple. Add a drop or two of liquid dish soap and a cup of water. Use a medium speed on the blender. After it swirls around for about 10 seconds, dump liquid in sink, rinse and dry thoroughly.
<Fruits supply an excellent source of Vitamin C - promotes healthy teeth and gums, provides healing of wounds, helps keep immune system in check and helps to absorb iron needed for your body.>
<Potassium (especially the high amounts found in bananas) is a mineral necessary for cell and muscle growth.>
