Bring on the homemade rolls.

My hubby loves homemade pies and homemade bread so I normally have them everyday. I usually bake extra and freeze so I can have bread ready almost at a moments notice.

I like to try new recipes all the time. While leafing through my Taste of Home magazine before Christmas, I found an easy hot roll recipe. It is really different but easy to do. No kneading is required. It is a sweet bread and makes wonderful rolls and could be adapted for cinnamon rolls also. Here's the recipe:

Never-fail Yeast Rolls
1 pkg (1/4 oz) active dry yeast
1-1/2 cups warm water
3-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 pkg (9 oz) yellow or white cake mix (I use 1/2 of a cake mix, save the other half for the next batch of bread)
1/2 tsp salt
Melted butter or margarine

I dissolve yeast in mixing bowl in warm water (110-115 dgrs). Takes about 5 minutes to dissolve. With my mixer, mix in flour, dry cake mix and salt. Mix well. (DO NOT KNEAD). Place in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour or so. Punch dough down, divide in half. Lightly flour your work area. Roll each portion into a 12-in circle; cut each circle into 12 wedges. Roll up, beginning at the wide end: place point side down on greased baking sheets. Brush with butter. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1/2 hour. Bake at 350 dgrs for 12 - 15 minutes or until golden brown. Also after I take them out, I immediately brush with oil or butter and cover lightly. This recipe makes 2 dozen rolls. The rolls are very light and delicious. You will be proud of your accomplishment.

This is an unusual recipe but is delicious. I usually serve the rolls with homemade vegetable soup or chilli on a cold night. I've never had any leftover to freeze..
