There have been many times when my schedule has been so busy, that I couldn't always prepare the traditional style dinners for myself and my son. That I would need to cook something that was quick and easy, yet filling. I would fry up a couple of frozen burgers and make the perogies as a side dish.
I discovered Mrs T's Perogies in the freezer section at our local Wal-Mart Supercenter. For $1.86, I decided to buy a package to try. The first box I purchased was the POTATO and ONION contains 12 frozen pierogies. When prepared they are the next best thing to Homemade I have ever tasted.
There are various ways to prepare with the preparation directions listed right on the back of the package, Saute'ed Salsa, Deep Fried, Boiled Pierogies and Sauce, or Baked Spinach Pierogies.
You can serve these as a main dish entree, a side dish, or just as an Appetizer. With my teenage son it is more like a snack and very easy for him to prepare when I am not home. He enjoys them just boiled and served with melted butter.
Our favorite is the Potato and Onion, other flavors are Potato and American Cheese, Jalapeno and Cheddar, or Sauerkraut.
Very inexpensive, yet quick and easy, Low Fat and most of all delicious tasting.
