Why
I have a bird that makes a mess every time it eats. I bought this product because I didn't want to go down stairs to the basement and get my "monster" Dirt Devil vacuum every time there is a little mess on my hard wood floor. I thought that this wold be very easy and time efficient.

Features
This product is cordless. Takes long time to charge. Very short battery life (10 minutes). One simple button to turn it on and off. Battery charger. Promises to be light and promises to be a replacement for your broom.

Alternate products
I bought this product after considering vacuum cleaners, small vacuum cleaners, and small cordless vacuum cleaners.
* Vacuum cleaners were too big for this type of a job (small messes).
* Small vacuum cleaners are not comfortable to use. They usually not intended for use like a broom.
* Small cordless vacuum cleaners have same problems as small vacuum cleaners

After reviewing all my options I thought that I would give Dirt Devil Broom Vac BV2000 a trie.

Love
I like this product because it is cordless, small, and just like a broom that doesn't need a dustpan (in theory). Whenever I have a small mess that would require a dustpan, I just turn on this Dirt Devil Broom Vacuum cleaner and the mess disappears from the floor.

Hate
This product doesn't stand to its promises.
* Light -- heavier than a broom (as it claims to be light it is heavier than a broom therefore in my mind it is heavy for what it is supposed to be used for)
* Cordless -- only for 10 minutes max (as soon as you turn this thing on you can hear and feel it loose power)
* Broom Vacuum cleaner -- more like a Dust Pan Vacuum cleaner (the only thing that I find this tool useful for is picking up dust and little messes from the floor and not sweeping with it)

Use
Like I said above, I find this product as a dust pan replacement and not a broom replacement. It works very well if you are trying to pick up bird feed messes from your hard wood floor. For all other uses, sweeping your kitchen floor or any other rooms floor where there is a lot of floor to cover, this product doesn't have enough battery life. I would only suggest this product as a bird feed picker upper :)
