I hate washing dishes by hand!

It was bound to happen. My toddler was fascinated with all of the buttons and knobs on the dishwasher and kept pushing and turning and pushing and turning, etc. Well after so many times of this, the dishwasher finally decided that it was time to go to dishwasher heaven (however it’s still installed in my kitchen – proper burial to follow after I purchase a new dishwasher). At the present time, my current dishwasher is called “honey” and he does a really great job at washing the dishes. (Some of you might have this dishwasher model too and you might refer to him as your husband!)
The one thing I’ve noticed when I’ve been out looking at dishwashers is that not all dishwashers are alike. You have the simple to operate dishwashers that have only a few buttons or knobs. Then you have the super deluxe cheeseburger model that has several wash cycles and would probably put the dishes up after they are dried.
I’ve pretty much decided that I need only the simple version, but my one requirement for this dishwasher is that it should have the rotating water arm on both the top and the bottom (most models only have one water arm to wash all of the dishes). I’d also be pretty happy if I could find one with a toddler proof front with an accompanying child lock, but alas I haven’t found one with this option.
My final thoughts on purchasing a dishwasher would be to think about what features you actually would use. If you really don’t think you’ll have a lot of heavy duty dishwasher loads to do, then opt to buy a dishwasher that will meet your needs on a daily basis. You’ll also have to decide if you want a dishwasher with only one rotating water arm or with two. Will you really need it to do a lot of heavy-duty loads? Do you really need it to have heated drying?
Once you decide what options you will use frequently, then you’ll be ready to start shopping for the best deal in your area. If you are like me, I’m not only going to purchase a new dishwasher, but I’m going to have them install it for me too. By having it installed, they will remove my old dishwasher and haul it away!
Good luck and happy shopping!
