Hefty, generic, and Ziploc stores just about anything resealable bags!

Oct 03 '00

Before moving down to Florida, my fiance and I had sold most of our stuff. So when we first got into our new house we did not have much of anything. Sure we had the stove, the frig and the kitchen sink, but everything else was missing. So what did I have to run out and buy before I would be happy in my new kitchen?

First off, we had to get a microwave. I could have gone a little longer without one, but my fiance just needs one to heat up his 2 hour coffee. Me on the other hand would prefer to just make a fresh pot of coffee.

Then of course we needed a coffee maker and be sure not to forget to buy the coffee filters otherwise you will be making a trip back to the store.

A tea pot is an essential in our house. That's for when it's 11:00 pm and noone wants to make a fresh pot of coffee so we will just settle for a cup of hot tea.

Then of course you must have some dish soap, some sponges, and paper towels. Otherwise how will you clean your coffee maker and make a new pot of coffee?

Aside from the things listed above, the utmost important kitchen must have is........(drumroll) resealable food storage bags. You know the kinds, hefty makes some, ziploc makes them, and even the store makes their own kind. They can zip close and hold all of your leftovers without having to dirty yet another plate. There are even freezer ones that allow you to store your food in the freezer and not have to worry about freezer-burn. I use my food storage bags for everything. From taking cookies out of the box and storing them in a bag, to storing left overs, to storing the dog's snacks or the kid's snacks, to keeping toothpaste in them so those lovely sugar ants don't make a new home, or anything else that you can possible think of. The resealable food storage bags always come in handy and I have found that the store brand ones are just as good as the name brands, and only cost about half of the price which is always good.

So just remember when you are stocking your new kitchen. Whether or not you need a coffee pot, a tea pot, or a microwave is not the issue. It's those resealable food storage bags that should be renamed resealable food and anything else storage bags that will always come in handy.
