This'll fry your bacon!

While browsing through the Corning/Revere Shop in our outlet mall, I found the most marvelous, versatile kitchen accessory! We always are looking for glass lids for our various cookware, and this was a find!
It's called "See Through Bacon Press Cookware Cover." Although it was in the Corning/Revere Shop, it doesn't appear to be made by them. It is a flat glass lid, rimmed with metal, and with a large heat-resistant knob. It fits all pans up to 8" in diameter, and it says it is ideal for "Griddle Sandwiches or as a Hamburger press."
Yesterday I tried it as a bacon press, and it was great. The bacon came out perfectly fried, and perfectly flat, without the little uncooked bacon ends that always seem to curl up away from the pan. The knob stayed relatively cool, even though the press was laying directly on the hot bacon, and I did not need to use a pot holder to lift it. It was surprising how much grease wound up on the bacon press. I was glad that this grease did not splatter on the stove. This made clean-up easier. The cover is dishwasher safe.
The cover fit most of our pans except the Dutch oven. It also fit our smallest frying pan. The metal rim on this glass cover extends below the glass, so that the cover stays put, and will not slide off of a pan.
The outlet store price on this item is $9.99, and the Corning tag says, "10367 OOUG BACON PRESS CKWR CVR."
So....if you like to check on your food while it is cooking, without lifting the pan lid, here is a good investment. I am very happy with this purchase.
