Barbecued Spareribs
Dec 22 '99
I included this Recipe in an opinion of microwave ovens, but it's so good I would also like to share it here.
Ingredients:
2-3 Lbs. Spareribs
Seasoned salt (I use Lawry's)
Pepper
Garlic powder
Barbecue sauce (I use Kraft's Hickory Smoke)
Liquid Smoke
Preparation:
Cut the ribs as big as possible, but small enough to fit into a 8" X 8" Pyrex dish. Season both sides of the ribs with the salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stack the ribs in the dish, creating 2 or 3 layers. Sprinkle the ribs with a couple of capfuls of the liquid smoke. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and place in the microwave. Bake for 14 min. per lb. at 50% power. About half-way thru the cooking time, remove from the oven and pour off the liquid from the bottom of the dish, recover, and continue cooking until 10 min. from the end of the cooking time. Remove the ribs from the dish and pour off any accumulated liquid. Coat the ribs liberally with the barbecue sauce and place back in the dish. Recover and bake for the final 10 min. The meat will come off the bone easily, but will not be dried out. Enjoy!
