A Family Favorite

Oct 06 '00

This recipe goes way back in my family, in fact my grandfather came up with this recipe himself one day and it has passed down through three more generations of us since. We actually call it "Come and Get It," - it's a silly name, but everyone knows what I mean when I say we're having it for dinner. It is very tasty, perfect for cooler weather when you want a hearty meal and quick and easy to make.

Here's What You Need: 1 pound of Ground Beef
1 Green Pepper (chopped)
3 White Onions
3 Cloves of Garlic
1 Zucchini (Sliced)
1 Can Whole Tomatoes and 1 Can Tomato Puree
1 Stalk of Celery (Chopped finely)
1 box of Elbow Macaroni
1 TB of Olive Oil
Garlic powder, salt, white pepper

Procedure: Brown the Ground beef in a Skillet, then drain. In a Dutch oven, saute the onions in a TB of Olive oil, then add the garlic, then the green pepper, celery, and zucchini. Cover and cook on low heat for 15 min. Now add Both Cans of Tomatoes. Cover and cook for 1/2 hour, meanwhile boiling the macaroni for 10 minutes. Drain Macaroni. Finish by putting the macaroni and ground beef into the Dutch Oven with all the other ingredients. Season with 2 tsp Garlic powder, 1 tsp salt, and 2 tsp White pepper. Makes enough for six. Enjoy!!!
