Taco Salad

Taco Salad is a favorite in my household. It is semi-healthy, easy and fast to make, and best of all, it taste great. You will need the following ingredients:

1 lb hamburger
1 package of taco seasoning
lettuce
green onions
mild cheddar cheese - shredded
1 small can of black olives - sliced
1 medium tomato
1 small bag of tortilla chips
salsa

First step is to brown the hamburger. Makes sure you brown the meat completely since some people were getting sick from meat that was not cooked all the way. Once the hamburger is done, then drain the grease. Second step is to add the taco seasoning. You must follow the directions on the back of the seasoning package. Different types of seasoning have different amounts of water added to the meat. Once the meat has started to boil, then turn the heat down and allow to simmer for at least 10-15 minutes. This is when I usually cut up the tomato, green onions, and shred the lettuce. The final step is to cover the bottom of a large bowl with crushed tortilla chips. Next, place the seasoned hamburger on top of the tortilla chips. Third, place the shredded lettuce on top of the hamburger. Fourth, place the olives and green onions in the bowl. Next, include the shredded cheese & tomatoes. Lastly, sprinkle some more crushed tortilla chips over the top of the salad.

Once the salad has been distributed into individual bowls, then you can add the salsa on top. This salad is so popular around my house that we usually end up having the leftovers for lunch the next day.
