You Spin Me 'Round Like A Record Baby...

When purchasing a microwave you must keep one thing in mind:
TURNTABLE!
My first microwave didn't have one, so I didn't miss it. Then I purchase a turntable that you wind up when you want to use it. I don't know how I lived without it! You know how the instructions say to rotate something halfway through cooking? Pshaw on that! Let the turntable do the work!
By using a turntable you not only eliminate having to "rotate 1/4 turn halfway through cooking" but your food will heat or cook much more evenly!
Well, I managed to overwind that turntable and had to get along without for awhile because I couldn't find, and still haven't seen, another one.
However, when I purchased a new microwave a while ago I made sure to get one with a turntable in it, so now I don't even have to wind it!
The only problem with this one is that it is removable, and while that is great for cleaning purposes, it mounts on a little triangular base in the center, so if my pan of food is off center a little, then it tends to tip the turntable off the mounting piece.
For some reason, this doesn't bother anyone but me, so the kids will let it bump and tip its way around like some amusement park ride, so their food actually get 3D cooking... hmmm, maybe they're onto something.
Whatever, my point is that any microwave is much more effective when a turntable is used with it, so keep my comments in mind when comparing models and shopping. Check to see if there is a turntable included, and how it is mounted. I believe they must all be removable for cleaning under it, but see how it's mounted and if it looks as if it will fall off it's base easily (picture your peas on the "Spider" ride...)
