Pros: Pregnancy prevention Cons: Nothing works 100% of the time
Personally, I don't put much stock into the Depo Provera shot. Why? Because I used it for 9 mos and still got pregnant. I gained over 40 pounds on it in a month in a half. Needless to say, I wasn't a happy camper. And even though I had ceased...

Pros: high effectiveness percentage, convenient Cons: can easily be forgotten, does not protect against diseases
I went on the birth control pills a few months ago, and they have done their job just fine so far. As everything, they have their good and bad points.

Pros: Take 4 times a year Cons: Moodiness, Increased bleeding
Depro-Provera seemed like such an easy option for birth control. After having two kids 368 days apart, I decided to try Depro-Provera. My doctor told me all of the manufacturer stated side effects and sent home literature so I could take a week to make...

Pros: only 4 times a year, 99.9% effective Cons: can cause side effects in MOST people
I became pregnant with my son while on the pill. The pill and I did not get along very well for various reasons, smoking, weight gain. Then actually remembering to take the pill after 9 months of being pregnant.
When my husband and I decided...

Pros: 99% effective when taken correctly, and regulates the irregular Cons: have to remember to take them every single day
I am one of the most forgetful people on the face of this planet. But one thing I never forget to do is take my Ortho Tri-Cyclen every single morning. Think about it - for two years, I haven't forgotten even once.
"When taken...

Pros: regular periods Cons: complications when getting off..
Is the pill to good to be true? They say this is safe but I wonder now. Sadly for me, its too late, my body has been altered forever. I was on the birth control pill Ortho-Novum for 6 years. It totally messed up my whole body. But it did it in a way...

Pros: Preventing unplanned pregnancy.. Cons: Most birth control methods do NOT prevent the spread of STD's
Unless you are in a monogamous relationship and you know that your partner isn't seeing someone else on the side, there is one thing to always keep in mind when deciding what method of birth control to use: disease!
I don't think...

Pros: An important factor in sexual relationships... Cons: Not something to trifle with...
There's a couple of issues involved with this topic, and I'm going to try to address them in order of importance even though other people's priorities may differ. At any rate, this has become a very important social issue that should be approached early...

Pros: For me there were none! Cons: Lowered Immune System, dizziness, sore muscles, sore back/neck, blurry vision, enormous weight gain, panic attacks.
In November of 1996 I started taking the depo provera birth control shot. It was my first time on birth control, so I asked a lot of questions. I was told there were no side effects, except perhaps a small amount of weight gain, and that my period would...

Pros: birth control you don't have to swallow daily Cons: hard to get out of your system
I started getting the Depo shot to get off birth control pills which I had been on since the birth of my first child who was then eight years old.
I took the shot for about a year, and my monthly cycle completely stopped.
I am a firm believer...

Pros: Increased MALE pleasure Cons: Decreased FEMALE pleasure
I have a couple hobbies. Sex and Freebies. I know sex is free (well, for most people anyways), so that's a bonus. Or maybe I just have one hobby then, freebies, not sex. Let me add that I recieve alot more freebies than I do sex. I'm not sure if this is...

Pros: prevent pregnancy pretty good, Cons: can have side effects
After the birth of my son I knew I was not ready to have another child right away, so I talked about birth control options with my doctor. I already knew I did not want to be on the shot, because I had only been told bad things about it. Using only...
