Pros: regular, light periods, clear skin, less cramps Cons: insurance (run by men) won't cover the pill
This one's for the ladies! I have used 2 kinds of birth control pills. One is the kind (sorry, I think the name is orthocyclen?) which has a steady dose of estrogen, and orthotricyclen, which varies the amount of estrogen. Orthotricyclen is much...

Pros: Both fairly reliable methods Cons: Not 100% reliable
OK, from my title you can easily infer that I have been a user of two forms of birth control: condoms and oral contraceptives. I think both of them have their good points, but of course there are drawbacks, too. Often I have wished that humans came...

Pros: no pills or shots to remember Cons: side affects are terrible
In 93 my husband and I discussed having another child. We had one son in 89 and thought that it would be a good time to add another child to the family. We also planned on having more, but decided that after the birth we would go on birth control for a...

Pros: I experienced no side effects, and you only need to think about taking this once every 3 months. Cons: You have to get a shot! And the first 6 weeks weren't too comfortable.
Depo Prevera, I call Depo for short, is a birth control drug you only have to think about once every 3 months. It is given/taken by receiving a shot. That all in itself made this birth control the drug of my choice!
My doctor did warn me of some...

Pros: feels great Cons: none that I have found
I recently had surgery and had to go off the birth control pill. My only option was to use a diaphragm, which I am not to fond of, or condoms. My husband was very receptive to the idea using condoms but we wanted to find the ones that felt closest...

Pros: very effective in preventing pregnancy. Cons: weight gain, migrianes, mood swings, should I go on?

Pros: can prevent STD's; affordable, and most likely with prevent unwanted pregnancy Cons: allows people to get intimate too fast without worrying about responsibility for their actions. No form of birth control is perfect accidents do and can happen
If you have viewed some of my prior opinions you will know that I am the proud father of a four year old baby boy and a one month old daughter. My wife waited two years after our marriage before deciding to have our first child. We waited an additional...

Pros: Defense against unplanned pregnancies Cons: some side affects with medication related controls
Personally, I think that each person in a partnership should be in control of their own form of birth control. And if both of them are agreed on using one form of birth control than they should both contribute to the cost of their particular one....

Pros: Peace of Mind Cons: May need external reminders to stay on schedule
This gets alittle personal doesn't it?
I am completely for birth control. (I suppose this is more than a product endorsement.) There are too many people out there having kids when they shouldn't because they are just not ready for the...
