Pros: one of the most beautiful places on earth; incredible people Cons: book early -- space fills up quickly
Well, I'm not going to say that Camp Tawonga affected my future career choice, how I deal with people in general, and how I look at the world. And I won't say that I met my wife there, named my child after it and wish I was back there at least twice a...

Pros: Life-changing experiences abound in this paradise of a summer camp. Cons: The food isn't the greatest and the nights can be cold
Camp Tawonga changed my life. My name there is Finch, and I am a six-year camper and hopeful staff member in a couple years. Tawonga is chock-full of the most wonderful people you'll ever meet, and it will draw you back again and again. My best friends, ...

Their are no words to describe Camp Tawonga...
by gcrocks1234 ,Mar 10 '05
Pros: Amazing time, amazing friends that you will keep for life Cons: extreamly expensive. Tawonga will assist any family that is in need of financial support.
Tawonga is one of those places that you never forget. Tawonga is one of those places where you can fit in and be yourself. Tawonga is one of those places where you will make friends for life (im not kidding my bunk and a boys bunk have stayed friends for 3 years, 4 years this upcoming summer, and in some cases counselors). The incrediable, amazing staff trys to make your stay at Tawonga the best possiable and they do it to perfection. Well their the fair amount of homesick campers (I was one of them) I was never homesick for long. My first real friends, my first HUGE crush, and finally a place where I could belong, Tawonga has done it all for me. When you go home and go back the "real world" you want to return so badly but have to wait for a new summer and its painful to have to think about that. And when you become to old to be a camper that really does something to you. I'm thinking of working at Tawonga in a few years...I can't wait to go back!

I love Camp Tawonga
by ladybug4789 ,Oct 05 '03
Pros: Wonderful, caring environment. Cons: It is quite expensive.
Camp Tawonga is an incredible camp. I have been going there for five years, and plan to work there. Words would do an injustice to it. I've gone to the one-week (about $800), two-week ($1800), and three-week ($2800) sessions, starting in 1999 as a fourth-grader at Session 1 (one week). I haven't gone on any of the Quests (backpacking trips), but I hear they're lots of fun. All I can say is that it's an incredible camp filled with caring, loving staff and incredible campers, some of whom you'll be friends with forever. It's in a beautiful section of Yosemite with the Tuolumne River flowing through it. If you ever have a chance to go there (and it's not easy to get in; the waiting list is very extensive), I recommend it 100%.
