Why me?Aug 16 '00 Write an essay on this topic.The only surviving aunt of seven in the family has very little respect by the family anymore. Anyone but me. Yes, she is diagnosed as being mentally ill, but I like her and have had a good time with her. She has come to me since my fathers (her only brother)death. I really don't mind. Some say she is using me. Others she is dangerous. Yes, she has a big mouth and said some things to me about other family members she had no right to say, but come on. Whatever happened to compassion for the stupid? In my every day walk I deal with all kinds oF stupid people, and a lot of bright ones too. That's life! I work in a corporate environment and own my own small business. Are we that sensitive today that we can't deal with stupidity? One thing I don't deal with as a business person is people who don't pay. I don't know how I am going to get the rest of family to respect her. They refused to meet with her in small group setting but said she can come a large group. That's ridiculous for anyone to behave like that. I only know that I must continue to be loyal to her in spite of what others say. She is the elder in the family and we must respect our elders. I have made my position clear to family members that someone must deal with her and that is me. They seem to agree with that.  |
