However, things are not hard as they seem. Actually, there are plenty of activities that your child can perform after school during the winter months. You will also find your family being a little closer as well. If you don't have games like Monopoly, and Uno, now is the perfect time to go out and purchase some fun games. Don't forget chess and checkers. During the winter months take out your calendar and plan your activities day for day. Scheduling is very important. I'm pretty sure your child will be out of school for the Christmas Holiday's, as well. You want to keep your child as busy as possible; therefore, your child/ children want drive you up the wall. Coloring books, and reading books, is highly recommended. Have your child/children, read short stories to themselves, and afterwards, read to you. This activity will help them with their reading skills, and also it's fun. Have a day, when you and your child/children go out to the bookstore, and purchase interesting books or magazines. Therefore, they will be able to pick a book of their choice, and of their interest. Do creative things with your child/children. Show your child how to make a plant, this is exciting for your child. Suggestion: A bean plant is very easy. The only thing you have to do, is dig a little dirt, and bury a bean down in the dirt, and in the meanwhile, watch the plant grow. Teach your child the importance of watering and taking care of the plant, so the plant will grow. Renting family movies. Movies that are interesting for you and your child/children is important. Therefore, you will be interested in the movie, as well as the child/children. There are plenty of more things you can do during these winter months with your child/children. Being creative is very important, and finding out what works best for you and your child/children.  |
