Homemade Tattoos & Baby Aspirin

This is written in reply to an epinion from ChriseyB Re: The permanent marker incident.

I just happened onto Epinions yesterday through a link from a garden magazine I subscribe to. Already I have discovered I have opinions and comments on numerous subjects. I am also noticing how seemingly coincidental events are in the world.

I found ChriseyB's epinion through someone who had read one of my pieces. I was interested in knowing how one does remove permanent marker from skin. Is it truly permanent? I have a tendency to get stains of all kinds, but usually on fabrics. I have figured out tricks for removing wine, and my favorite, coffee stains but not "permanent" marker. Especially from skin.

My first guess would be that overtime, new skin would grow, replacing the stained skin. This incident was reported in April. Did you have any luck? I hope so. What if anything did you do?

I spoke of coincidence. Just today, I was relaying a story about another little boy who had a back turned on him. I had asked someone for an antacid which tasted like baby aspirin. This prompted me to tell the old family story of my little brother (now grown).

My older sister was sick, but young enough to still take baby aspirin. Sometime after my sister took her dose, my mother found her youngest acting suspiciously. He appeared to be calmly chewing something. Mom asked what he was eating and he said nothing. A while later he was found chewing again. Still he said he was not eating anything. Later still, my sister found the empty bottle of baby aspirin in the bathroom waste basket. She brought the evidence to my mother.

My brother was rushed to the hospital. In the emergency room, it was determined he was too young to have his stomach pumped. Instead, they gave him a glass of Ginger Ale with serum of Ipecac in it. He reportedly vomited for a long time. I don't know if he ever drank Ginger Ale again, but I think he is leary of medications.
