If you really love your child..

Care packages at camp are one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had in my life. One Saturday morning, I woke up really early to watch the sunrise in my sunroom. I saw a big wooden box that could have used a paint job. I got out some red, blue, green and yellow paint and make funky designs all over the box, while watching the sunrise. It was beautiful, and so relaxing.

My sister was away at camp for three weeks, so everything was very quiet around the house. I usually received approximately five to seven letters the time she is away. I send her about 3 care packages, that she absolutely adores.

What do I put in these packages? All sorts of things! I take my dried homemade box and lay it open on my kitchen table. I find picture frames and glue beads, buttons, and colored paper clips, all over them. Then I go through albums and put pictures in my picture frames and send them.
I buy some candy with good expiration dates like Swedish fish, Mentos, Sprees, gum, Tastetations, and send them as well. I write her a letter from my heart, and type it up in fancy colors, fonts, and different sizes.

I sometimes send her little stuffed animals, finger toys, nail polish, calling cards, and small little things to make her happy. Also, I get e-mails from family and tape them to the box, to show her how much she is loved and missed.

The care packages have not only been a wonderful experience for me, but for my sister as well, who loves to share them with all of her roommates. She told me in one of her letters that a girl that was new felt a little left out, so she offered her some Swedish fish and they hit it off as best friends!

I hope you had fun reading my crazy ideas for my care packages!
