In my eyes.....adoption is a beautiful and wonderful thing to do for those kids that are so desperately in need of a mommy and daddy! I know this, because I myself was adopted!
The most you can ever do for a needy kid, is to give him a place that he or she can call home. Being bounced from home to home or in foster care can mess with ones mind and cause harm in the future!
I was taken away from my biological mother when I was less then a year old, but kept in foster care till I was four. From what I hear, laws have changed about how long kids can stay in foster care because of long term affects on them.
I had many a difficult times in my life due to being in the systen for so long. My biological mother was a prostitute and use to lock myself and my other 10 siblings in a closet when she went to "work"! She beat us and mistreated us emotionally!
So we were given up and put in foster care! In my case, foster care was the worse thing that could have ever happened to me! Myself and my brother and sister were sexually abused for 3 years there! We were beat and neglected there also, but finally at the age of 4 I had found my mommy and daddy, or they had found me :)
My adopted parents are wonderful people and I love them so dearly. They put us always before them from the beginning of our lives together, to this day. They made me and my other siblings that they adopted along with me, feel accepted and not worthless.
I would love to adopt one day and make some other child out there feel as welcome as me!
