Adoption? wishful thinking!Jul 19 '00 Write an essay on this topic. My husband and I have recently decided we would like to have another child, the problem with this is I have a hard time getting pregnant, we have tried allllllll sorts of things and alternatives, we've done the chart/temperature thing, we've also done the fertility pills, which is how we got our son. But the only problem with doing that again is 1st- It is very expensive and insurance will not cover it 2nd- since i have been on them before my chances of having multiple births is greater! We dont want 10 we only want 1, so we exercised the option of adoption. ok heres the thing, do you know the average cost of adopting a baby is $20,000? This is so crazy to me, you see commercials and ads all the time about how there are so many children out that that need good homes to people who want them and will give them a good life but what they dont tell you is that you need to be really really wealthy to do this! We have called on many different agencies and what we have found is we just basically cant afford it, not only do they want you to pay for the birth mothers expenses you have your own attorney fees you have to come up with. Now tell me if there are so many kids out there that need good homes why is it so hard to get one? why does it have to cost so much? average income people cannot afford this way of building a family, so its really sad to say that most average income couples that are infertile will probably not be able to afford this option! but its really sadder for the children! |
