Often Forgotten but Very HelpfulFeb 28 '00 Write an essay on this topic.I,like every new expectant mom, went out and bought everything imaginative for my unborn baby. I thought the baby needed everything from changing table to Diaper Jeannie. Fact is a lot of these are not even needed, I find out after she is born, but some of the simplest most important things get forgotten or looked over. One item I found to be very useful, if your baby is on formula, is a pre-measured formula holder. They are very inexpensive but very helpful when you are out and about and your little one gets hungry. If you have a baby like mine, with a temper and absolutely no patients, I have yet another favorite item. My daughter is very particular about the temperature of the water for her bottles and she is not at all patient to wait for the stove to heat up so I have found that keeping a thermos of warm water with me at all times is a life saver. It keeps the head aches away. I always keep the thermos and formula holder next to her crib for those middle of the night feedings. I have found a few other useful hints to help with organization. At first I was lugging around a huge diaper bag with everything you could think of in it for the "just in case" scenario but after a couple months it was old. I then changed to a small bag and I keep it organized by separating everything in big baggies. For instance, I keep all the diaper changing items in one bag, all the toys in another, all the bottles and formula in one and the change of clothes in another. That way your bag is nice and neat and when you need something just pull out the one bag instead of having to fumble through the whole thing to find what you are looking for. I hope I have given a few useful hints and suggestions. They all work great for me and makes my life a little easier. |
