| nannersg's Full Review: Evenflo Trendsetter Advantage Travel System |
I love the idea of a travel system. An infant car seat that fits into the stroller and is removable when the child is older. It has cup holders, collapses easily and has a large basket at the bottom - and an attractive blue and green plaid pattern. So what's the problem?
Well, to start, I recently decided it was time to put my 5 month old in the stroller without the car seat. However, I realized that the stroller seat will only stay in full recline. Unfortunately I sat my son in it upright and it instantly collapsed back to full recline startling both of us.
The wheels seem cheaply made. They are designed to swivel, but they are always getting stuck in one position. Also, the wheels squeak terribly, which is embarrassing while shopping at the mall.
Despite its ease of collapse, the stroller itself is awkward and quite bulky when fully collapsed, making it difficult to lug in and out of our trunk.
In terms of the car seat, the sun visor is constantly falling off, posing a potential tripping hazard. The car seat immediately scratched the stroller bar where it is designed to be placed. Now there are nicks and dents on the front of the stroller.
Bottom line, the stroller system is a great idea, but we paid good money for a very cheap piece of equipment. We plan to have more children, but we don't plan to use this product to tote them. Unfortunately, the best thing about the stroller is its attractiveness and cup holders - not what most parents prioritize as being most important! Don't bother with this travel system, shop around for something of better quality - especially if you're going to pay $200.00!
