Pokemon is not satanicJan 5, 2000 Write an essay on this topic.I just thought it should be known that from a Christian perspective that the Pokemon craze is not satanic. The cartoon is silly and at times downright dumb but I have not seen anything satanic in it. I watch every time my kids do and have come to like the show a lot. The playing cards are not that big of a deal either. After sinking more than I care to think into the playing cards, my daughter played with them for a while and now they just sit on the shelf collecting dust. The video game is kind of fun to play and I have played it myself so I know about the game first hand. It is just another video game, and a lot better than others that have come out like Doom, Duke Nukem or the infamous Mortal Kombat. I felt it was necessary to voice my opinion on the Pokemon craze after listening to a Christian radio program. A woman called in and said she had become ill but did not know why. She blamed it on the fact that her son had dropped Pokemon cards into the back seat of her car. I thought this was the strangest thing I had ever heard. It is stuff like this that makes people believe that Christians are all nuts. I just think that there should be moderation in all things, including Pokemon. Parents are the ones who are supposed to be in control. If they do not want their kids becoming obsessed by Pokemon Cards then take them away. That is why parents are there, to guide their children. So it is my humble opinion that we have nothing to fear from Pokemon the cartoon, the movie or the cards if we all keep it in perspective and remember it is just a game, a cartoon and a huge money maker for Nintendo. Now... That is what Really have a problem with. They got all my money and all I got were these dumb cards. :-)  |
