| snowsquall's Full Review: Evenflo Trendsetter Travel System |
I specifically asked for this travel system and received it as a gift at my baby shower. I did a lot of research on car seats, strollers and travel systems. This one caught my eye because of the one hand steering handle, the ergonomic carseat handle, and large basket to carry things in and the many great reviews I read on many different sites along with safety ratings.
The carseat itself is WONDERFUL. Once the base was properly installed in my car with the lap belt in the center of the back seat, snapping the carseat into it was a breeze. This carseat also snaps into most grocery carts in the front where an older child would sit. And also sits very snug into the wooden high chairs at most restaurants. This carseat also rocks when put on the floor and that was wonderful to soothe a fussy baby.
Now for the stroller...I have hardly used the one hand steering handle but it does work ok. The wheels are a little small but they do swivel well but there are hardly any shocks so even strolling on cement sidewalks it makes TOO MUCH NOISE thumping as you roll over each cement slab so I now stroll on the side of the road and avoid sidewalks unfortunately.
The clip to keep the stroller folded up broke when I first took it out of the box :( Not sure if I was too excited to open it up or it is just a cheap piece of plastic.
It is a heavy full size stroller that is a little tricky to fold down flat. I believe the newer models now have a one hand folding mechanism. The basket at the bottom is HUGE and has two pockets on the side too that gives you plenty of room to put diaper bag, shopping bags, etc. The cup holder is great too - one for baby's bottle/cup and one for mommy (or daddy's) drink, too :)
The snap on snack tray that goes in front after baby outgrows the carseat and sits in the stroller comes off really easy. My daughter has knocked it off twice so far while strolling.
I would recommend the newer models of this travel system as they have made some improvements.
