Thinking of an addition to your family?

Lately, I have been thinking about adopting. Why, you ask? Well I have one son, and I know very soon he will be getting older. And with this change of age, comes a lot of new issues. I remember growing up and being so happy that I had siblings. Feeling lucky is the phrase I'm looking for. I believe it builds self esteem and gives a child more reponsability. It did for me anyways.
Being a single father plays a big part in it also. I know a lot of times I might not be around to show Joey the attention which he will need. And with a brother or sister around he will not feel so alone.
With adoption comes other great benefits, taking a child and bringing him into a family, giving the child love and a sense of belonging is a blessing in itself.
This is still a big decision to be made on my part, and I have a lot of researching and thinking to do before I take that step of adopting a child. But for you all out there that have already taken that step. Good for you! I think it's wonderful that there are people out their with so much love to give, and share with a lonely child that needs it.
