Coping With Death After Murder
Jun 13 '00 (Updated Aug 03 '00)
This is part three and final if you haven't read the first and second parts you may want to do that to understand what these sentences are all about. So many wanted to know the out come of these killers, of this senseless murder, they held for up to four days my Brothers Son in his own home beat and tortured around the clock then stuffed in a large duffle bag and tossed in a river and was found tens days later.
The heart wrenching gut splitting horrible thing is that they murdered the wrong man, the intended was in court at the jury trail.
It is my believe that each and every one of the six killers are just as guilty and they all six should have got the same life sentence. But with plea bargains some got much less time. Tanya 20 got only 40 months with time served counted, and Richard 21 got three years. These two were charged with kidnapping and holding captive of Randy in his own home.
. Shawn 27, was convicted of first-degree murder on March 29/00 by a jury and sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole.
SHAWN is the only one of the six murderers that went to jury trail and the only one to get life with no chance of parole. Believe me he had it coming.
The fourth one to be sentenced on Friday, May 26.2000 was
Toby 19, was sentenced to life in prison, with possibility of parole after 30 years, for aiding and assisting first-degree murder.
Randy’s Mother read a statement in court in tears and a broken voice in her words she said
“I just want to say that thanks to Toby and his friends, I had to spend Mother's Day without my Randy,”
She continued to tell Toby that her son's death has been very difficult on the family, and that she wishes all the defendants in the case could received life sentences.
Heather 20, was sentenced to 36 years in prison for second-degree murder Friday, JUNE 2/00 in the death of Randy, with possibility of parole after two-thirds of that sentence is served.
Heather was five months along with child at the time of the murder, she has since given birth to a Son, who will be an adult by the time she gets out. If she has any feelings how could so take part in the murder of anther Mothers Son? I guess its like was said in court that these six murderers where not human they were monsters.
Neither Heather or any Family member gave a statement at the sentencing.
Randy `s Mother gave a heart wrenching tear jerking stomach turning statement to Heather.
Randy`s Mother expressed her sympathy for Heather's parents, saying that it has to hurt them knowing they raised a daughter who participated in the torture and murder of her son.
Isaac 22 the sixth and last to be sentenced on June 9/00 Sentenced to 30 years in prison, and will be eligible for parole after 20 years.
Statements were read by both Randy`s and Isaac`s Parents. Isaac also read a short statement to Randy`s Family
These are the words Isaac read to the Family.
“I want to tell the Randy`s Family I'm very sorry. I don't blame you for not being able to forgive me,” he said. “Randy didn’t deserve this — nobody does.”
This is the third epinion I have written on coping with death after a murder. It seems that the Family has no time to heal in these kind of deaths, the murder will soon be one year in July. This whole year has been nothing but court hearings and jury trail.
Now we hope the healing can start, I do believe that Randy`s Mother will never be the same sweet loving and trusting person that she used to be, but she will try to go on with her life as she knows that's what Randy would want. Randy has three Brothers and one Sister and Father that are having a very hard time dealing with his death as are his many Friends and relatives.
