Large is your opinion - not mine!!

If you want more than two kids get a puppy! Can you believe some jerk actually said that to me in front of my four kids - while not a large family, it's large by today's standards and even more amazing is that I had three of them in four years.
I love all my kids and there are days I think how much easier it would be with just two. The other morning three were gone and I was left alone with my two year old - it was so quiet, so peaceful - no fighting, no yelling - no action no excitement. It was boring!!
I think family size is a very personal matter and decision and no one has the right to make comments about how many children another family has. My husband and I decided to have these children and Yes, we can afford all four of them. I have heard people make comments to that affect also. I must say as a mother of close consecutives I am very jealous of the multiple mothers who get things for free because they had three or four kids at one time. Hey, when my youngest was born I had three kids in diapers and no one offered to help off set my $100+ a month bill. I knew I would have it when I gave birth and was willing to accept the financial responsibility that went along with having the kids.
Mothers of multiples get all the praise for being able to care for three babies at one time - hey my husband and I cared for three babies at once without round the clock help. I dragged three babies to the market and had to keep track of them while my oldest pushed an extra cart. My husband and I never slept because our three youngest were on separate sleep schedules. None believed sleep was a necessary part of life.
It isn't any easier for mothers of close consecutives than it is for mothers of multiples, yet no one ever seems to give us credit - if you choose to have a large or larger family you're expected to maintain and make it on your own, if you have them all at once everyone is at the ready to pitch in and help.
I love the life I have and would consider increasing my family size if I had more stamina. For now I'll enjoy the four I have and all the adventures that lay ahead (along with the 20 loads of laundry each week). Don't feel sorry for me or make a comment to that affect in front of my kids - they have ears and can hear what you say (things like that family ought to practice birth control). These are little people with feelings and emotions and you don't need to make them feel bad. They enjoy our family and the way it is - always someone to play with, never a dull moment and wouldn't trade it for anything.
