Cinnamon OrnamentsDec 3, 2000 Write an essay on this topic. While looking through my holiday recipe collection, I came across this recipe from my days as a pre-school teacher. I loved making these ornaments with my class using gingerbread men cookie cutters and fondly remember the smell of cinnamon that lingered in my classroom for days after finishing this project. Cinnamon Ornaments Materials 1 cup Cinnamon 1 tlb Cloves 1 tlb Nutmeg 3/4 c Applesauce 2 tb White glue 1 Drinking straw Ribbon Directions: In medium bowl, stir dry ingredients to combine. Add applesauce & glue. Work mixture with hands for 2 to 3 min or until dough is smooth and ingredients are mixed. Divide into 4 portions. Roll out each portion to approximately 1/4 inch thickness. Cut dough with cookie cutters or into desired shapes. Using straw, make a small hole in top of each ornament. Dry on cooling racks for several days turning over once a day. Insert ribbon through hole tie with a knot or bow. DO NOT EAT |
