| IcePrincess1's Full Review: Evenflo Trendsetter Advantage Travel System |
The stroller/car seat selection can be overwhelming when you look up and down the aisles at babies r us and related stores. Convertible, infant rear facing, umbrella, travel system. What to pick and what to do. When I first found out I was pregnant I drug my husband out to the store to gaze longingly at all the wonderful things we could buy for our little one. After a trip up the car seat aisle, we got to the travel system. We pulled the trend setter off the shelf, drove it, collapsed it and decided at that moment that was the stroller for us.
At my shower I received a different brand and we promptly took it back. I had my heart set on this one for several reasons. It just appeared to be made better. It's true that appearances can be deceiving, but the difference between this stroller and other brands were obvious. It is more beefy and less fragile than a lot of more expensive models. While streamlining and light weight may be of some importance, so is durability.
The stroller is a marvel. It is easy to handle whether out with help or alone. I can push the stroller and carry the baby if she's fussy. I can leave her in her seat, which is nice because she would certainly loll around in the stroller itself too much at this point. I have no trouble collapsing it or opening it. It is also easy for me to get in and out of the trunk and I am not overly strong, to say the least. We have to remove the front wheels to get it in the trunk of a rather small call. The front wheels come on and off with no problem what so ever, making it easy for someone who is not mechanically inclined to take the wheels off.
The carseat is great too. It actually clips onto shopping carts. This is nice because I know that it will hold through normal jostling and I don't have to worry about the sit tipping or slipping off. While it doesn't fasten tight, it is enough to ease my mind. It is simple to get in and out of the car and off and on the base.
My one complaint is that the car seat/carrier itself is heavy with the baby in it and I cannot carry it by itself for any length of time unless I balance it on my hip(which isn't comfortable) or use two hands, which isn't always possible. Other than that, I feel you get a great product for your money.
