Oh how Juicy

There is no bigger love then when you are in a large family! Sadly I cannot have anymore then the three that I have now...I would have loved to have had 3 more children. For the past five years my husband and I have fostered over 50 kids. We always had eight foster kids and our own two and then later three at any given time. We drove a 15 passenger van everywhere we went and life was just a ball! It was a neat thing to see us getting ready to go to church. The oldest kids grabbed a little kid and dressed them and did their hair. Then we would all trapse out to the van. Our Neighbors told us that they would sit by the window in the morning to watch us leave for church. Putting kids in carseats, and the older ones climbing into the back..all of us in our Sunday best...
Somehow children from large families are just JUICY... I think that you have to have a strong marriage to parent a large group of kids..so my theory is that the kids are marinated in the love that their parents have.
Sure the kids have to share hand me downs, and the money is not there to do expensive activities like movie premiers and mini golf...but what ever we do, we have fun! We do not have a TV in the Living room..we like to teach the kids to use other forms of entertainment. The big kids read to the little ones, they roll down the hill that our house sits on, they play games a lot...I could go on and on. One night a week we have movie night. We bring the TV into the living room and we all get our bean bag chairs(last years Christmas present to everyone) and we sit down together..It looks like a Beetnick movie theater!
All of our kids attended private school(on scholarship) and since we had all girls we had a morning stocking, and skirt length check... Somehow when you have one child, this turns into a controversy, but with 8 teenagers it was a hoot!
It is sad that large families have become so scarce. People used to tell me that it was irresponsible to over populate the world with so many kids. I cannot choose one child out of the 50 that I can say should not have been born. They were all talented, and adorable each in their own way...and yes, sometimes they were bad, BUT they were always very, very JUICY!
