Showing Affection is a Must

May 20 '00

Coming from a family that has never been very affectionate toward each other, I know that being shown affection is a necessity while growing up. I never had a mom that would hug me and kiss me and comfort me if I needed it. I know how it made me feel when she was there but not for me. I have a 4 year old daughter and I know how precious she is. I give her hugs and kisses often each day. We also tell each other we love each other at least 4 or 5 times a day. My daughter will always know how special she is to me. I never felt special or really loved at all by my family. I actually felt very alone. I will not be that way with my daughter. I will give her all the hugs, kisses, and support she needs. Being affectionate with your children will also help them to grow up to be loving, caring people. If a child grows up with affection, they will be caring and loving when they grow up. If a child grows up feeling alone, they will be lonely and may not learn how to truly care for others.
